Exhausted and

burned out?

You're not alone.

Burnout rates are on the rise, and they are especially high among nonprofit leaders.

While burnout has been growing since COVID, it is particularly high among fundraisers because the turbulence of the last few years--the global pandemic, racial justice uprisings, rising authoritarianism, human rights atrocities, and record number of attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community--required nonprofit leaders to take on an even greater share of responsibility to care for their communities, with one crisis after another and no rest.

Now as donations are down and donors are reporting "compassion fatigue," fundraisers are exhausted. That is a problem for ALL of us.

Fundraising without Burnout is a love letter to fundraisers who work in a sector that is often misunderstood, under-appreciated, and undervalued. A soothing balm for the vital work needed to repair the world, it offers a frank and witty critique of how the “best practices” we’ve been taught in philanthropy are actually sabotaging our movements, and what we can do to heal.

By debunking the myths that keep inequitable practices in place, the book offers solutions to help nonprofit leaders meet their fundraising goals without sacrificing their values or their peace.

Learn strategies to:

- Identify harmful fundraising practices that lead to stress and burnout

- Heal from years of toxic workplaces, oppressive systems, and unbalanced living
- Attract aligned donors, and confidently refuse funding that isn't aligned
- Prepare for the “great wealth transfer” to women over this next decade and the expected, consequent changes to the nonprofit sector.

What Readers Are Saying

“Fundraising Without Burnout is an extremely thoughtful and timely book that sheds a light on the toll that philanthropy takes on the nonprofit workforce - and what that means for the future of our sector.”

- Edgar Villanueva

Bestselling Author, Decolonizing Wealth

“So appreciative of Radha's book that synthesizes important ideas and provides practical ways to address burnout among fundraising professionals. It's a timely book, as we are losing so many fundraisers, whose work is critical for advancing a just and equitable world."

- Vu Le

Author, Unicorns on Fire and the Nonprofit AF blog

“A must-read book for anyone interested in shifting philanthropy and our practices. Women are expanding their financial influence in the fields of philanthropy, impact investing, and venture capital, and it's time to pay attention and take action.”

- Tuti Scott

Former CEO, Tides

“I cannot emphasize how important it is that fundraisers in particular, nonprofit leaders, and funders most of all, read this utterly timely book. Without any respite from the living nightmare that was the pandemic, especially for the nonprofit sector, and for fundraisers as much as frontline workers, we are being challenged to ‘seize the new opportunities’ that surround us and ‘reinvent’ ourselves and our organisations. This book draws on the author’s personal experiences to illuminate the structural causes of fundraiser burnout and offers a healthier, more wholesome paradigm grounded in feminist values to which we would all do well to pay heed.”

- Ingrid Srinath

Founder, Center for High Impact Philanthropy
